OLYMPIC CHAMPION SAMUEL WANJIRU COMMITS SUICIDE

May 16th 2011 will be a day forever remembered by family, relatives, friends and fans of 2008 Olympic gold medallist Samuel Wanjiru as it marks the day he died. The circumstances around his death have proved very eery and police are further investigating.

Samuel had come home with a female companion to his Muthaiga Estate, Nyahururu home at around 11pm last night and his wife Triza Njeri who he had a history of quarrels with showed up minutes later. Police say a quarrel broke out between the two of them and at 1am he leaped off the top floor of his home to the ground. No comments have been made by neither parties (Triza Njeri and the estranged female companion). Upon arrival by neighbors and relatives at the home they found him bleeding from his ears and mouth.

Triza Njeri and a guard on duty are said to have already recorded statements and the estranged female companion is helping police with the investigation. Just when things were turning around for Samuel Wanjiru after his wife and guard had dropped assault charges against him in March.
