The gorgeous actress from MAD MEN series!! one of my favorites i have to add!
is teaming up with Vivienne Westwood to promote the designer's "Get a Life" palladium jewelry collection.
The collection is being touted as eco-friendly, because palladium, a white metal in the platinum family, is derived from nature. Westwood chose to exploit the relationship to nature by featuring such items as acorns, leaves and oak trees in her design. "Get a Life is about how we stop climate change and therefore preserve life for the next generation while at that same time get a better life," Westwood said in a release. "My focus at the moment is what one person can do. Stop climate change. Save the planet. The acorn is symbolic of the rainforest, its importance and how it is our first duty to save it." The jewelry collection is available in Vivienne Westwood boutiques in London and Los Angeles.

Vivienne Westwood a designer who has no boundaries showcased Her Fall 2011 collection at London Fashion Week. Keeping to her British roots Vivienne Westwood went for victorian gothic with some crazy hats and hair do's.
Westwood gives the audience a taste of London style in her Red Label collection, which style.com referred to a day in Portobello (The eclectic Britishness to be observed around Portobello Market on an average Saturday)
Twisted and tailored suits were among the collection as well as multi-coloured pleats and preppy styled outfits. The smudged make up gave the collection a 'I don't care what I look like' look, got you more excited to look at the designs.

The past year has seen the fashion industry suffer casualties with the infamous (as we try not to clench teeth tirelessly typing this term) recession. From the fail of greatly anticipated local fashion weeks (Glasgow being one of the victims) to the “surreal” loss of Lacroix couture no one and no industry was safe. Vogue offered More Dash than Cash rewarding its readers with the reassuring notion that it’s not only us fashion fans that are tightening our (stylish) belts.
Today the rumours of the closure of Yohji Yamamoto were quelled with the news that the label has revealed a new management team and strategies for consolidation.
The gloomy forecast for fashion future finance is brightening which in turn brightens up our own gloomy financial woes.
And with the reality of the recession affecting everyone, some designers are beginning to appear accessible and additionally like one of us ‘real people’.
Vivienne Westwood’s collection unveiled at Milan Fashion Week yesterday moved on from the usual unaffordable luxurious collection extreme to the opposite end of the spectrum reaching out to ‘real people’.
Inspiration coming from a lawyer friend who works for a homeless charity, Westwood’s collection was described by one fashion editor as “homeless chic” and the orange boiler suit worn by one of the models was described by another as “Guantanamo chic”. The collection is reminiscent of the ‘Derelicte’ collection in the Ben Stiller comedy ‘Zoolander’.
The collection has been met with both praise and criticism. Her collection has alluded to the recycling of clothes, suggestion to wearing them over and reinventing them.
This is like music to the ears of fashionistas who suffer unfortunate anxiety in relation to the recession.
You may criticise the collection, criticise the concept, but that is one critique fashion hot mess will not follow. Vivienne Westwood has through this collection and the messages it has delivered enlightened fashionista recessionistas that she is still one of us. Fashion is affordable and the Dame has just demonstrated this.
Fashion is a reflection of our culture, so what does our fashion say about our culture – In Glasgow, Brussels, Europe? Our cities play host to many different nationalities and cultures. Is our diverse society a reflection of what we wear and how we wear it? If we take now, we are coming into autumn and fashion hot mess are asking themselves what the autumnal trends are. Fashion hot mess came across this question asked to model Sara Blomqvist (Swedish Model, face of D&G) whose answer was shouting individuality and making a style our own. We could not agree more as our style is based on originality, individuality and standing out in a crowd. Our eclectic style is modelled in more than one way, but the favourite way to stand out with style is through wearing vintage pieces. In vintage stores it’s hard not to channel some fun individuality to add to your hot eclectic style! Everything is one of a kind and isn’t our style just that! Dame Vivienne Westwood we salute that you pronounce it heroic to stand out with fashion!
Glasgow and Brussels both have a range of vintage shops which fashion hot mess have shopped in and loved what both cities have to offer. One difference between both cities and the vintage was the price. Brussels flies the flag for recessionistas and being able to stretch our money further. Well, that was until Glasgow fought back with some competition to fly the recessionista flag too! Vintage Guru the HOTTEST new vintage store in town opened its doors to Glasgow in August and fashion hot mess went to check it out and catch up with the lady behind the magic, Jennifer. Prices we love, clothing we love, accessories we love and the hot staff we love. Vintage Guru has a lot of love to give, so feeling like you need a little bit more love? You can never have enough! Check out Vintage Guru and let it love you!
